How to.. Find out the total number of Lync Users in your environment

Share this:

In Today’s post we are going over a simple question that is not that easy to answer when using Lync.  The question is.. How many Lync Users I have in total and also per location.

The answer is simple using PowerShell, basically to find out the total number of Lync users we can run these two cmdlets. Bear in mind that I defined 5000 as the maximum number to be retrieved, so change that accordingly but guarantee that number is higher than you total amount of users.

$TotalUsers =Get-CSUser –ResultSize 5000

$TotalUsers.Count

Well, how about location? It’s a piece of cake! Just add the –OU and then specify the location and you are golden! Check in the example below when I get all Lync Users from Argentina OU.
