Installing Exchange Server 2010 RC

Share this:

Hi Folks,

Here are some tips that may help you guys out during Exchange Server 2010 RC. This post is a work in progress, so if you have any hint to share, please drop me a line and I will update this post.

– Install OS pre-requisites based on the Exchange Server 2010 role that will be installed. There are XML files for each role (those files can be located on the Scripts folder), in the figure below we are installing pre-requisites for a Exchange Server 2010 that will have CAS/HUB/MBX roles (Typical installation)

– Install 2007 Office System Converter:Microsoft Filter Pack (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=60c92a37-719c-4077-b5c6-cac34f4227cc&displaylang=en). After installing Microsoft Filter Pack, check this kb out: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;944516

Note: It’s not a showstopper but it’s nice to avoid any warnings during the Readiness Check phase.

– Configure Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service to Automatic startup mode
