Skype for Business Server Debugging Tools

Share this:

In this Tutorial we are going over the simple process to deploy the Skype for Business Server debugging tools which install two tools: snooper and CLSLogger and they are the second stop during any troubleshooting in the Skype for Business (my first stop would be the Event Viewer).

Solution

The installation process is straight forward, we can download the debugging tools from the following link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=47263

Installing the Debugging Tools..

After downloading the file, just execute and use default settings, the initial page is shown in the image below.

In the Destination Folder page. By default is the S4B installation path, and we need to go to that location to open the tools afterwards, so make a mental note about that location for future use.

Running CLSLogger..

The CLSLogger is a neat tool that allows the administrator to use scenarios and manage log collection from several servers from a central location (we are going to have a Tutorial just for that tool in the near future).

In order to run it, go to the Debugging Tools folder, and double click on CLSLogger.exe.

Here is the initial screen of CLSLogger, and we can see the Scenarios and also the buttons on the upper-right corner to manage the logging and right underneath the servers from the topology.
